CLASS DESCRIPTIONS
BEGINNER FLAMENCO (MON 7-815PM)- Introduction to Flamenco. Beginner students with learn posture, upper body arm and hand technique and footwork technique. Flamenco rhythms with palmas (hand clapping) and dance structure. New combinations will be taught in each class.
INTERMEDIATE FLAMENCO (FRI 7-8PM)- A continuation of Beginner Flamenco. Students should have experience both in Flamenco technique and compas. We will cover more advanced techniques and work on longer complex combination, pieces of choreography.
ADVANCED CHOREOGRAPHY (MON 815-930PM)- Students must be comfortable and confidant with Flamenco compas and have strong technique. Over the semester this class will cover all the key points in a choreography. FALL 2011 SOLEA
FLAMENCO FOOTWORK TECHNIQUE (TUE 730-830PM)- This class is a technique class for all levels. For the beginner who wants to develop more strength and speed. For the advanced and professional dancer looking to brush up on technique and gain more speed. Pure footwork focus
UPPER BODY TECHNIQUE & STYLIZATION (TUE 830-930)- This class is a technique class for all levels and every type of dancer. We will focus on core and arm strength. Balance and speed with turns. And developing dance style not just steps.
SEVILLANAS (Select Thursdays 730-830PM, see google calender)- A traditional regional dance from Sevilla, Sevillanas is the perfect party dance. Done with a partner and broken into 4 coplas (meters, pieces). Light and fun!
