Flamenco I: Basic Flamenco for Beginners
(Technique and Choreography)
Sundays 6:00-7:00pm, Tuesdays 7:00-8:00pm

This class is intended for students new to flamenco,
those with less than 1 year experience, or more
advanced dancers looking for a refresher course.
Students learn the basics of flamenco posture,
hand and arm movement, footwork, and dance styles.
Technique is reinforced through exercises and
choreographies including rumbas, tangos flamencos,
colombianas, fandangos and sevillanas.

Flamenco II: Beginner/Intermediate Technique and Choreography
Sundays 7:00-8:00pm, Tuesdays 8:00-9:00pm

Flamenco II is for students with a minimum
of 6 months flamenco experience who are
looking to advance their studies more rapidly.
A firm grasp of basic technique is required.
The class includes the basic techniques learned in
Flamenco I, with progressively more complex
rhythms, footwork, and choreography.
Choreographies and improvisational techniques
for Bulerías, Alegrías, and Soleáres will be taught.

Nia is an expressive fitness program that combines dance, yoga, and martial arts to provide a safe, fun, effective path to
health and wellness. Different from other dance forms, Nia incorporates the pleasure principle and can be adaptable to all
fitness levels and body types. This class integrates funky, eclectic music, movement, and games to assist girls with
getting fit, improving self-esteem, and loving their bodies!

Students from the One World KidsReach program, Inside Out,
perform along with world-renowned steel pan artist Liam Teague.
Approximately 45 students aged 12-18 participating from
Covington Middle School and Bowie and McCallum High School
have been studying the steel pan throughout the school year
with One World sponsored artist, C.J. Menge.
In this final performance, the kids take the One World stage
with Liam Teague, an award-winning steelpan player from
Trinidad & Tobago. Together they will play traditional Caribbean
style music as well as a diverse blend of rock, jazz, and classical selections.
