Movin' Easy Dancewear

I told him that that those kids studied ballet at Ballet Austin’s Academy. That was the last I heard about it…or so I thought. The following summer I became aware of the Academy’s Boys Scholarship Class taught by Ms. Bravo. I thought, why not? It couldn’t hurt, and the boys might really get something out of it. Exciting new dancers show up at Movin Easy.  A 70 year old  Swing dancer tried out the Sansha Dance Sneaker with spins that made me so jealous.   He loved Baryshnikov and bought a pair of Sansha ballet slippers for beginning ballet class.  Said he needed the flexibility and hoped it improved is Swing.

Do high school men dance best?  Definitely true in the case of Roman Ramos, completing his junior year in Austin, Texas.  After two years of intensive study, he is a lead dancer for Roy Lozano’s Ballet Folklorico company.  http://www.movineasy.com/where_to_dance/?s=roy+lozano%27s

Ramos says, ” I began dancing to impress my girl friend and I loved dancing more and more.”  He was in football and basketball before and said, “As I got more into dancing, the sports just faded away.  I like performing before lots of people.”

He is in the right place with this Austin based folklorico company that has great community support for their detailed recreations of traditional dances and their own explorations.  Developing his skills so fast is a tribute to the great men dancers and teachers of the company.
